About Removable Dentures
A removable denture may be complete when all teeth in an arch are missing, or partial when some natural teeth remain. Planning considers the condition and position of the remaining teeth, gum health, jaw support, bite, hygiene and patient expectations. The appropriate design is selected only after a clinical examination and any required imaging.
Treatment commonly involves impressions or digital records, measurement of the jaw relationship, a trial stage and delivery of the final denture. Follow-up visits may be needed to check pressure areas, stability, speech and chewing as the mouth adapts. Cleaning instructions, overnight use and maintenance are tailored to the denture and the individual case.
The final indication, treatment sequence, materials and timeline are confirmed after clinical and radiographic examination.
