DENTAL GUIDE

What matters when choosing a dental implant system?

The implant system matters, but outcomes are not determined by a logo or country of origin alone. Diagnosis, surgical placement, restorative design, clinician experience, hygiene and follow-up all contribute to treatment.

Documentation and system history

A well-documented system with product traceability can support treatment and future care. The implant card, lot information and an accurate record of the components used should be retained.

Access to restorative components

Abutments, screws, impression or digital components and replacement parts may be needed years later. Long-term component availability is therefore more relevant than the initial implant price alone.

The right system still needs the right plan

Bone quality, implant dimensions, position and loading protocol vary between cases. A reputable implant cannot compensate for an unsuitable indication or poorly designed restoration. Patients should ask why a particular option is recommended for their case.
